I look forward to the magazine. I put together some hints for David Smerdon on playing correspondence chess which I reworked for the magazine. He has started playing for Australia in our match against Germany against Correspondence GM Wolfgang Fischer.

Usually older people play correspondence but I noticed that the Auzzie team has a couple of young players. Also, did not realize we had a 2309 rated WGM here in Aus!

Great story about the WGM finding love via postal chess : http://romancepostal.blogspot.com.au...1_archive.html

Btw, has she ever played OTB? 2309 correspondence rating means she is a great correspondence player!

Thanks Michael, there were some enjoyable reads on the link you posted, but I didn't manage to find the story you seemed to be referring to... would you please double check the link?

what a great idea, leaving the moves on the kitchen table and saving on postage! also works when not on speaking terms!

Yes. I don't believe I've ever met Carmelita (and don't know anything about her playing OTB) but I have seen her name, and James (S. J. Henri) was Tasmanian OTB state champion four times in the late 1970s.

Henri vs Henri is here: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1702813
