2015 Oceania Seniors Championship

Oceania Seniors Chess Championship (incorporating NZ Seniors Championship)
Thursday 16th April 2015 to Sunday 19th April 2015
NZ National Chess Centre, Devonport St Paul's, 100b Victoria Road, Devonport, Auckland.

This is a Poison Pawn Grand Prix class 1 event.

Eligibility: Players must reach age 50 or over in 2015 (i.e. born in the year 1965 or earlier).
Format: 7 round Swiss tournament, NZCF & FIDE rated where possible.
Time Control: 90 minutes each player plus 30 seconds increment per move from move one.

Prize Fund (NZ $):
1st $500 2nd $350 3rd $200 4th $100
Plus Veteran's (aged 65 and over in 2015) prize of $150.
Plus two grade prizes of $100 each if a minimum of 25 entries.
PLEASE NOTE: No player may claim more than one prize.
Players eligible for open or age/grade prize would receive the highest monetary value prize.
In the event of a tie, the title and/or prize money will be shared.

Conditions: A half point bye can be requested in round 1 only.
Schedule: Players' meeting 6.45pm Thursday 16th April 2015
Round 1 7pm Thursday 16th April 2015
Round 2 10am Friday 17th April 2015
Round 3 3pm Friday 17th April 2015
Round 4 10am Saturday 18th April 2015
Round 5 3pm Saturday 18th April 2015
Round 6 10am Sunday 19th April 2015
Round 7 3pm Sunday 19th April 2015
Prize giving as soon as possible after completion of the last game.

Entry Fees: $60 if received by 10th April 2015. Then $70 until entries close on 14th April 2015.
$20 Annual NZCF player registration fee (if not yet paid, exempt for non-NZ players).
No Payment received or shown by 14th April 2015 = Not Entered. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Club bank account for payment: BNZ 02 0168 0024110 00 (state name & “NZ Seniors”)

Tournament is looking quite strong but it is a little disappointing that I am the only Australian.

Only boards 1 and 2 are broadcasting live in round 1.
Still not successful in fixing a mysterious problem of all boards dying when board 3 is plugged in.
Eventually supposed to have all 13 boards broadcasting live.

Given up trying to get extra boards running.
Downgrading DGT eboards into fancy wooden boards.

Pity, was supposed to have live broadcast for all games.

I asked in Fics for you yesterday but no-one answered I'll ask again now... I think the answer is if they don't work straight away... they can be little shots. I also googled it for you.. there is heap of stuff, but a lot are pdf files which take for ever to open using Android. I had to add ..help..and manual..in the search to get away from the ads. There is also a site where they were discussing DGT. .. but it looked mostly to be home use not what we're after .

You can't watch more than one (or two) boards at a time anywho

We will have plenty to entertain us
