For those who don't know Canberra (or Tuggeranong) well -

The Town Centre Sports Club is adjacent to the Tuggeranong Hyperdome, the major shopping complex for the area. Country Comfort have a motel next door to the Club but I have no idea about the rates. The Town Centre Club has lawn bowls and tennis courts attached. At the Hyperdome are Hoyts cinemas, ten-pin bowling, food court and outlets including Target, KMart & Myer. There are bars and restaurants in the area of the Hyperdome although not as atmospheric as areas like Kingston or Manuka (for those who come to Doeberl). Maccas is 5mins walk on the lake, which you can enjoy with a KFC chaser (right next door).

I will be thinking of you all in sunny Canberra, whilst I enjoy the 16 or so degree maximum of Mt Buller on the same weekend!

And for those grown ups who are still deciding whether to play or not, the event clashes with the Australian Schools Championships, so a large number of strong ACT/NSW juniors will be occupied elsewhere as will a number of strong coaches. So the event should be easier than in previous years.

A little smaller than last year, as there are clashes with other events. Leading scores

    3 - Wei, Rout
    2.5 - Ikeda, Ali

    See

    http://www.netspeed.com.au/ianandjan/IansPage/

for the full list of standings and crosstable at the half-way stage.
