Komodo 8 Second FREE! Win Point =

The Proof of the Pudding is in the Eating!...as they say

Stockfish 5 Wins! Stage 3 TCEC Season 7 Chess Engines Competition ???

The Real Score for Komodo 8 is -2 Points from the Final Table below because of the Two FREE! Win Points ? It Picked up against...

[White "Komodo 1318"] [Black "Naum 4.6"] [Event "TCEC Season 7 - Stage 2"]
[Date "2014.11.02"] [Round "8"] [TerminationDetails "Black disconnects"] ???

    [White "Critter 1.6a"][Black "Komodo 1324"] [Event "TCEC Season 7 - Stage 3"]
    [Date "2014.11.24"] [Round "19"] [TerminationDetails "White's connection stalls"] ???

So the True! Final Score is...

    Stockfish 5 = 20 / 28 Points

    Komodo 8 = 16.5 / 28 Points

Stockfish 5 Wins! Stage 3 TCEC Season 7 Chess Engines Competition.png

Basically No! Because every Engine had to Play 28 Games! So Komodo 8 Get's NOTHING! for it's Two Losses instead of Two Easy Win! Points!

I assume he's saying the computer was lost when its opponents disconnected.

What are "TCEC Win Rule" and "TCEC Draw Rule"?

I don't believe that was the case. The Naum game was terminated after 3 moves and far from resolved. The Critter game was terminated in an easily drawn king-pawn endgame.

In that case it may be that he's being completely silly.

There were a lot of smilies in his posts and so I believe deliberately so but a representative result for the chessplay of Komodo 8, if you want to factor out the wins by disconnection, would be either 16.5/26 or 17/27.

    The Reason for the...

So the True! Final Score is...

    Stockfish 5 = 20 / 28 Points

    Komodo 8 = 16.5 / 28 Points

Is Because in any Other Sport/Game where a Discrepancy is found! in the Case Concerning a Chess Engine Winning Two FREE! Points without Playing the Full Games ? then the Player/Engine that was Stripped of the Two Points would be Awarded them by Default!

Not true. As far as can be told, the opponents forfeited because one disconnected and the other's connection stalled. It is like if you are playing a tennis match and have to retire hurt; your opponent wins the game. In what sport does a player lose because their opponent has retired hurt?

Probably none, but surely this is not a sport, it's a (quasi)scientific study. You wouldn't say a hypothesis was disproved because of what happened when the power in the lab failed.

Having said that, I don't have the faintest idea what the above interchange is about other than what I can infer from the context. Does it matter? - anybody can run two computer chess programs against each other.
