Here are a little norwegian commercial... In Scandinavian languages farmers and pawns have the same word. Magnus Carlsen says something about "a pawn more or less..." and he is met with a lot of angry farmers.

From ex WCC Anatoly Karpov's simute, yesterday Mon, October 17, in Thessaloniki, Greece!
The Village Cinemas complex was hired for the occasion and it was "full house" long before the
    exhibition began.

Karpov defeats three-year-old. Good to see he's still got it!

(The article is appalling. Can't vouch for the commentary as it is in Russian.)

There is a write up here in French if that is better.

    http://echecs64.20minutes-blogs.fr/tag/osipov

Looks like Karpov gave Osipov advice and offered a draw in a superior position which was refused.

Also it looks like Karpov was sprung on the child during filming which was a little unfair. (I think he was expecting to play a normal person).

This game was part of a Russian Talent show. Cleary Karpov could have given him the game...but again it is against his nature

Can't figure out whether the child looks scared when Karpov appears or just awe struck. But Karpov is the legend. Shame they made him go through this, bet he didn't enjoy beating a child. And of course everyone feels for the child. Hate shows with children

"he didn't enjoy beating a child" - I'm sure that he doesn't really care.

"Hate shows with children". Me too, for sure.

I wonder if the little boy was just upset at the noise of the crowd more than the loss on time.

Karpov offering a draw in a winning position was generous, and showed that he didn't really want to beat a little child.

Well...he was hoping for a quick draw....Re child being scared...not sure he was quite aware who Karpov was. RE shows with children...yes - just a show off for parents and a cheap show for housewives to watch

Evgenij Vasjukov died recently ... Here are television program from Græsted 1990. It's from the times with Rook-clocks, cigarettes and adjourned games. Around 24.45 minutes, the former Postal WC Jørn Sloth has a short interview in Russian with Vasjukov, who won the tournament.

Bent Larsen was only a shadow of himself and it's "funny" to watch his face, when he lost to Jonny Hector.

Unfortunately it's in Danish, but you can let pictures "talk" ...

Re Sloth's Russian: He sounds quite fluent
Also should be noted - the one of the games analyzed in the video (Hector-Mortensen) was played not by Henrik but by aother Mortensen
