    2014 Draft Box Hill Chess Club and Canterbury Junior Chess Club Combined Calendar

    Hi all,

    Our 2014 calendar is on our web site link http://boxhillchess.org.au/2014-draft-calendar/

    Please note

    1) we have tried to avoid clashes with other events.

    For example we have scheduled our "losing points Blitz" on Cup weekend next year to avoid a clash with the Melbourne Chess Club Cup weekender. Our losing points Blitz tend to attract players who do not play the MCC event.

    2) this calendar is not yet cut and dried. In particular we have an event mysteriously named "New Event". What this is has yet to be determined.

    It is still being issued each fortnight. Newsletters are on the CJCC web site under heading NEWS

    Next issue next week. It features a David Flude correspondence game with the Winckelmann-Reimer gambit

    A revised draft calendar is now on the BHCC web site.


    Major changes.

    The Autumn Cup starts on 31 January and now has nine rounds.

    Losing points blitz scheduled for Friday December 19th.

    Some minor cosmetic changes.

    We still need a name and format of the "new Event" running from Friday 4.7.2014 - Friday 1.8.2013

    Major changes.

    July rookies brought forward one week to avoid clash with Croydon Classic. We have lots of members who like to play both tournaments. The Croydon classic is a moveable feast held in the last week of the school holidays so some years we need to move the Rookies. Thanks to the guys at Croydon for pointing out the clash.

    The Chronological Swiss will be running from Friday 4.7.2014 - Friday 1.8.2013
