    Yes.

It was remiss of me to not include in my earlier post that renewals of current membership will be discounted $15 if done by the end of January 2017.

Jack Puccini and Ari Dale to spearhead MCC's Saturday junior training in 2017

The Melbourne Chess Club is pleased to announced that FM Jack Puccini and IM Ari Dale will be instructors in the Club's Saturday morning junior training starting on Saturday 4 February 2017.

Jack and Ari, two of Australia's leading young players, are both products of the Melbourne Chess Club's junior training program, having first attended the program while still in primary school.

Their growth as chess players has seen them represent themselves and Australia with distinction on the international stage. Now they will be repaying the favour by passing their knowledge on to the next generation of junior chess stars.

Jack and Ari's 2017 tenure coincides with a pilot expansion to the Melbourne Chess Club junior program.

This expansion will see junior classes divided into a beginner and an advanced section. This division aims to enable greater attention to each junior player, thus accelerating their development. The pilot expansion will be running over terms 1 and 2 of 2017 and will be assessed afterwards for possible permanent adoption.

The junior training program is open to players from 6 to 18 years of age.

Further details about the Melbourne Chess Club's junior program, including Jack and Ari, can be found at http://www.melbournechessclub.org/learning/junior-chess on the Club's website.

We look forward to everyone coming along and developing their game in 2017!

What a timing... I arrive back in OZ today just on time to go home, have a shower, have something to eat, then off to MCC for the Allegro and fix my membership too!

The MCC hasn't put up any youtubes in almost a year.

I acknowledge that the last one by Grant on Openings was 1h 30 minutes. ... but I'm almost finished watching it.
.. this Caketin is full of little spiders and watermelon seeds.....

..Chess is all about fear and psychology

..Chess is like an exam..... you havent studied for

..If you're good at Chess it means you are very intelligent and could potentialy do great things
..... but that you might have wasted that playing way too much chess

Major Toilet Renovation at MCC (~3 weeks from 11 July 2017)

    Dear MCC Members and Guests

Please note that MCC is conducting major renovations of the men's toilets starting from tomorrow (11 July 2017).

The renovations are expected to last for around 3 weeks and will increase the capacity of the men's toilets.

While the renovations are ongoing, the sole remaining toilet (currently female only) will be unisex (i.e. open to both male and female).

If you are uncomfortable with this unisex toilet arrangement, please consider using off-site toilet facilities (such as nearby cafes) or not attending MCC during the renovation period.
