Just read John Shaw's new book "The King's Gambit".
There are many lines named after Australian CCLA member David Flude.
See Chapter 1 Section 5, the Flude Line starts with 9.Nc3!?

Great to see people who are passionate about an opening,
and putting in some work to help advance understanding, getting recognition.
My copy arrived last week. Two days to late to help me in one correspondence game but just in time for another.
I spent a great deal of time developing the Flude line which patched up the Kieseritzy gambit.
Shaw's book is really good. He took five year's writing it and it shows. I have been playing the King's Gambit for over fifty years. Maybe I will write a review of the book for Brian.
In recent over the board play I beat Rad Chmiel when he allowed a swindle. He played the Bonch-Osmolovsky defence. I lost to Bob Bergmanis when following a Bronstein Tal game where bob did not make the mistake Tal made.
I am convinced that the king's Gambit after 1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf 3.Nf3 is sound.
I have a totally crazy line to play against 1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf 3.Bc4 but Shaw gives a much saner way of playing. ( I only reach the King's Gambit after 1.f4 e5 2. e4 I have some secret analysis on the From's Gambit complex based on analysis in Kaissiber magazine and various books.
Shaw deals very well with the Modern Defence which is best reached by the move order 1.e4 e5 2.f4 d5 3.e4xd5 e5 xf4. Speaking from many years experience this is a line where it is very easy to overreach as white and get smashed.

David was a very early mentor to me. King's Gambit never rubbed off though.

“There’s no point blaming the tragedies of socialism on the flaws or corruption of particular leaders. Any system which allows some people to exercise unbridled power over others is an open invitation to abuse, whether that system is called slavery or socialism or something else.”—Thomas Sowell
