Yes, we know about the hypocritical corporate wokeness, which is really hatred of Christianity not caring about gays. After all, they are happy to do business in Dubai, Bahrain, and Qatar where they really do hate gays—enough to jail, flog, or execute them.

Also, if they fire their best player(s) and lose games they were favoured to win, and thus lose lots of money because fewer people want to buy tickets to see losers and because fewer people want to sponsor losers, then the Thugby directors should be fired for failing in their fiduciary duty.

Super Rugby players huddle for prayer on pitch to show solidarity with Israel Folau
    NZ Herald, 11 May 2019

Australian Super Rugby players from the Melbourne Rebels and the Queensland Reds huddled for a post-match prayer on Friday amid reports of anger among the game's Christians over the handling of the Israel Folau social media furore.

Wallabies fullback Folau, a fundamentalist Christian, moved a step closer to being sacked by Rugby Australia (RA) this week after he was found to have committed a 'high-level' code of conduct breach for a post that said hell awaited 'drunks, homosexuals, adulterers' and others.

The case has upset a number of Folau's Wallabies team mates who share his religious beliefs, with Reds prop Taniela Tupou writing that RA 'might as well sack... all the other Pacific Islands rugby players around the world.'

Trump's big win in fighting AIDS, long stigmatized as a gay disease

Trump Administration Win For Fighting HIV: Huge Donation Of Prevention Drugs
    Hank Berrien, 10 May 2019

On Thursday, President Trump, who stated in February that his administration had a goal to end the HIV epidemic in the United States within 10 years, announced that his administration had successfully worked with a pharmaceutical company to initiate a historic donation to eliminating the HIV problem in America.

Trump stated on Twitter: “Great news today: My Administration just secured a historic donation of HIV prevention drugs from Gilead to help expand access to PrEP for the uninsured and those at risk. Will help us achieve our goal of ending the HIV epidemic in America!”

So Trump will support Obamacare's protection for pre-existing conditions, which Republicans are trying to remove? That will do far more to help HIV sufferers than a few drugs.

EDIT: As this article points out, only 36% of patients who need it will be able to get the drug. And there a few strings attached.

One can support protection for pre-existing conditions and still oppose making it part of insurance, which by any reasonable definition means pooling money to cover risk. A pre-existing condition is no longer a risk, any more than a house already on fire or a car already crashed.

I don't think that's required, hate speech written in musty old books matters little. It's when it's aired publicly by high profile people that draws attention.

Also, if they fire their best player(s) and lose games they were favoured to win, and thus lose lots of money because fewer people want to buy tickets to see losers and because fewer people want to sponsor losers, then the Thugby directors should be fired for failing in their fiduciary duty.
He certainly was a good player, but if he doesn't meet the team's ethical standards then he's not eligible for selection. That is his choice.

One of the tenets of his religion is that it is objectively true ...
lol unfortunately thinking your religion is the one true one is not a position on which you have exclusivity.

As for this, puts the lie to your assertions of Rugby being anti-christian.

It's not insurance of course - it's a public health issue. In a developed society treatment of the sick should not be decided by their bank balances

This is better news for Israel than a fine or suspension. I understand he will now skip his right to a second code of conduct panel and head directly to court. Code of conduct breaches are obviously a big deal for RA. The RA code of conduct for administrators says that that you “do not make any public comment that is critical of … a player, (an) employee of any club or a union … or on any matter that is, or is likely to be, the subject of an investigation or disciplinary process …” If RA were consistent, the code of conduct should mean the immediate sacking of Raelene Castle, Michael Cheika and Daryl Gibson, who were all publicly critical of Folau before he had a hearing - and even before an independent panel had been constituted.

I feel some sorrow for Israel, he is a product of his community that he embraces strongly. We could just as well blame religious schools, churches and literature etc.. Such institutions get exemptions from the Anti-Discrimination Act so the various governments are also to blame for the end product, i.e. Israel. What he is stated is cruel and unnecessary and he demonstrates he is not the brightest in not listening to his lawyer to apologise and withdraw the remark. But until the Bible is culled there will always be victims on one side of the fence or the other.
Zionism is racism as defined by the UN, Israel by every dirty means available steals land and water, kill Palestinian freedom fighters and civilians, and operates an apartheid system to drive more Palestinians off their land

The rank hypocrisy and christophobia of Rugby Union bosses and Qantas

Alan Jones blasts major sponsor of Rugby Australia: ‘They have contracts with organisations whose treatment of women and homosexuals is repugnant’
"Christianity is under siege everywhere around the world," Jones also warned.
    Caldron Pool, 17 May 2019

Alan Jones has blasted Qantas, suggesting the major sponsor for Rugby Australia is also responsible for ending Israel Folau’s rugby career.

Speaking to 2GB’s Ben Fordham, Jones said: “This is the same sponsor who has a contract with Middle Eastern airline companies whose treatment of women and homosexuals is repugnant.

“We’re talking money from an entity which has a corporate engagement with international organisations whose treatment of women and homosexuals is totally unacceptable to the moral standards of Australians, but that’s OK. That seems to be OK.

“It’s OK to punch someone and you get six weeks. It’s OK to be on drugs and you get reinstated, but if the boy dares to proclaim his commitment to Christianity he’s banned for life,” Jones said.

Folau was sacked because he violated his code of conduct. And he was sacked by Rugby Australia - Qantas had no involvement.
