There are some more details about the outcome but not the crosstable here:

If the figure was 800 was it actually a real rating or just a guess for pairing purposes?

There is a player by that name Vaibhav Sharma from Faridabad who finished third in the boys under 11 Haryana (India) Open State Championship in 2009.

    800 Rating

Well I can tell you he did not play the top 8 rated players in the event and played on board 9 in the last round not sure how that happened but it did

800 was a guess as Sharma is unrated. He played in the Johnsonville Rapid scoring 2.5/6 for a provisional rating of 1412.

Having a full point bye mistakenly entered as zero is a pretty clear explanation (and an unfortunate administrative blunder).

The Swissperfect crosstable is now available on the NZCF Results page.

Vaibhav Sharma was a late entry, and was credited with a bye for round 1. Unfortunately this was entered as a zero in the program, and throughout the event, it seems that he was paired as if he had scored zero in that round. At the end of the event, he was credited with the point he should have received in round 1, and thus boosted to 1st=.

Probably a good moment to remind players that if they have a problem with an arbiter's decision, it should be taken to the Appeals Committee and dealt with before the event is finished and the result stands...
