The US Championship in St Louis was won in a gripping tie-break final. GM Gata Kamsky, the top seed beat GM Alejandro Ramirez in the armageddon game after the tiebreak match was drawn 1-1. 19 of the 24 players were GMs with Kamsky and Ramirez scoring 6.5/9. FM Samuel Sevian 2371 the world under 12 champion scored 4/9 which was a 2474 performance rating.
