sure thing! I am not entering ANY tournament that features more than one round a day, let alone the geriatrics one! Make it a round a day and I 'll be there in no time!

I am looking into the possibility of coming to my former home of Christchurch and playing. (jak, it's not just for geriatrics! Anyone over 50 can play!)

No they can't. Men must reach their 60th birthday in 2013. Women must reach their 50th.

I believe that next year FIDE is bringing the age limit down to 50 for both.

Thanks Helen. So different to last year's Asian Seniors and I am ineligible. Still young!

It is not the Asian Seniors (which has an age limit of 55). That is being held in Jeddah, I think.

    Clarification of prizes

Prizes: A minimum prize fund of cash and wine prizes totalling $1000 is guaranteed. 1st $250, 2nd $180, 3rd $100, grade prize $80. The winner will be the Oceania Senior Champion and qualify for the World Senior Championship, provided he/she has reached his/her 60th birthday in 2013. The highest-placed woman, or a woman winner who will not reach her 60th in 2013, will qualify for the Women's event. The highest-placed New Zealand player will be the 2013 New Zealand Senior Champion.
Tiebreaks: cash prizes will be shared among players on the same score. The NZ Seniors title can be shared. However, the Oceania titles can only be awarded to one person so FIDE-recommended tiebreaks will be in use (to be explained/confirmed at the players' meeting).

It says that Paul Glissan won his game in round 2 but is still recorded as having 0 points. Was the result recorded wrong in the system or is there some error?

Both - a PEBCAK error, I believe... Given the size and relatively small spread of the field, I'm very much inclined to leave the published pairings as they are. My apologies to the players and thanks to Lost for pointing it out!
