    FEN Viewer

Please tell me 75...Kf4 76.Rxc2 as shown in the game viewer didn't really happen here!

    (Reason in white:

75...d3 wins easily, while 75...Kf4 76.Kb2 may just draw.

Yes, it did in fact happen - both players overlooked that d3 wins when in mutual time trouble

I agree! Ari's plan to "surprise" the IM with the Alekhine did not come through!

Eventually, it was a great week for Guy West (bar that bump vs Ian Birchall - on ya Ian! at Croydon CC,) who managed to beat FM Dusan Stojic twice (*) in one week and Ari a couple of hours ago!

(*) the first in their MCC encounter last Monday and the other in the Hungarian Festival teams rapid last Saturday. Expect more titanic battles between those two in the near and not so near future as the IM hits back after two consecutive losses vs FM Dusan Stojic!

On the other leg of the equation, I am sure Ari Dale will recover from tonight's loss in a positive way! He has all the time to settle back in Aus after his European Tour De Force and produce some of his powerful stuff in the months to come! Expect great things from Ari (Finley too ) in 2013!
