I just "discovered" that on Face Book as a reference point from another site which seems that your blog gains considerable international ground.
I notice that you provide a lot of useful material.
I also notice that you haven't included your FM title in the main heading.
It might be OK for people who know you?
But don't you think it's necessary to include it for people who have no knowledge of your experience as player and coach?

Favorite movie line: Girl friend Cathy to Jack Ryan in "Sum of all Fears". "What kind of emergency does an historian have?".
A very interesting endgame that have been asking analyzing with my chess students - so simple -yet so complicated![]()

NZ Correspondence GM Mark Noble won a correspondence game with that line a few years back (see thread). So not so easy for Black to defend even with lots of time and possible computer help.
“The history of the 20th century is full of examples of countries that set out to redistribute wealth and ended up redistributing poverty.”
“There’s no point blaming the tragedies of socialism on the flaws or corruption of particular leaders. Any system which allows some people to exercise unbridled power over others is an open invitation to abuse, whether that system is called slavery or socialism or something else.”—Thomas Sowell
Some great endgames to play through and to analyze!

Desmond Tutu hasn't been a Bishop since the mid 1980s. He retired in 2010 and is now Archbishop emeritus Tutu. His successor as Bishop of Johannesburg (Duncan Buchanan) was an opposite coloured bishop - perhaps you were thinking of him.Surely an article about Bishops of Colour (Desmond Tutu perhaps) should be in the religion thread.
