    Pawn Immunity

The recent game Liston-Stone, Vic Teams resulted

    1-0 after white's 32nd.

In the final position, white had all 8 pawns intact, while black had a creditable 6!

    Can anyone beat:
    a) greater than 32 moves to have all one colour's pawns on the board
    b) greater than 14 pawns combined for both colours after 32

There is no cure for leftism. Its infestation of the host mostly diminishes with age except in the most rabid of specimens.

I remember in an SIO about 3 years ago wandering up to one of the top boards after my game had finished after about 4 hours and they were up to about move 50-60 and very little (if any) of anything was swapped off.

I will try to dig out that game later.

    cheers Garrett.

I think I remember a Johansen game where the first exchange of anything was on move 41 and Darryl eventually won in 90+ moves. Actually I would not be surprised if Darryl had several games meeting the criteria.

The famous "Alekhine's Gun" game is a near miss, with 13 pawns as the game ended on move 32.

Was that an actual 50-move–rule claim?
