    A good example of how a doubled P in a majority can render it useless for creating a passed P. A P endgame would probably be the worst endgame for that side if the enemy has a healthy P majority.

    Another game I had from the same tournament, with quite some similarities. This one came from a QGD. It was my opponent with the weak d-pawn, and it wasn't an extra one. This time he allowed me to swap the pieces and go from a bad RBvRB ending to a lost P ending.

    Smirnov - Adhiban from Asian Nations Cup final. In an otherwise objectively drawn position, 38...Kf6?? allows white to exchange into a pawn ending that should have been obviously dodgy for black and is in fact lost. (Note also black missed 24...Rxg2 winning.)

    Strange play by White - he avoids the forced draw, but then does nothing, allowing you to improve your position significantly. And then he swaps rooks, into an ending that must be bad - as Capablanca-Fan explained!

    This is an interesting one from a 3+2 game I played today as Black vs a player rated ~200 points higher than me. Should Black exchange or not?

    Yes is correct, with about 30-40 seconds left on my clock I rejected it since White already has a passed pawn, missing that White was tied to defending it and nothing can stop the a and b pawns creating a passed pawn.
    The slower I play the better I play, who would of thought?

    Seems like the pawn ending should be winning, with black's king position being so much better.

    1. Bring the black king to bloackade/attack the f-pawn and tie the white king down to defending it.
    2. Advance qside pawns creating an outside passed pawn.
    3. White king will have to go to qside to stop the pawn.
    4. Win f and h pawns, queen h pawn.

    Definitely exchange for the win. The square rule helps: White will get passed Ps way to far apart for the BK to stop (a and h files), while the WK easily stops the connected passed Ps on e and f files.
