The scuttlebut is that it will be

    1. Rogers v Sutovsky
    2. Johansen v Avrukh
    3. Zhao v Huzman
    4. Smerdon v Roiz

    with Australia Black on Bd´s 1 & 3

The organisers are very slow in getting the individual team pairings out at the moment, and this information is based on a conversation with the Israeli team captain in the hotel foyer!

As for Aus-Japan all games were still in progress 5 minutes ago, but it seems that Japan have rested their Board 1 R.J Fischer.

Israel's not scared enough to bring out Boris just yet.

Sutovsky-Rogers is an Advanced Caro-Kann, banging out moves pretty fast.
Johansen-Avrukh: After 1.c4 e5 2.Nc3 Bb4 Darryl took a few mins to play 3.g3. Now after 3...Nf6 4.Bg2 0-0 5.e4 Avrukh is taking ages to move too. I am surprised they are playing so slowly.
Huzman-Zhao would have been the 4...a6 line in the Slav but Huzman wimped out and transposed into an Exchange Slav instead.
Smerdon-Roiz is a c3 Sicilian where White has an IQP.

Women's games don't start for another few mins.

Women's pairings for Aus vs Germany -

    Berezina - Kachiani-G
    Nill - Caoili
    Sorokina - Mietzner

Berezina's opponent got quite a long way in the last FIDE knockout (quarters or semis IIRC).

I haven't found any way yet to watch all games at once (doubt computer could cope anyhow.)

    Ghastly.

Is anyone else following Anastasia's game? Move 12 and she's attempting to smash the opposing kingside with pawns on e4,f4 and g4 in front of her own king-side castled king. Hope it works, I love to see black kingsides get taken to the cleaners in the Sicilian.

The Zhao game's interesting too. Zhao's nominally up a pawn but has a dreadful bishop which he's hopefully about to fix and his king seems to be a bit of a target with white pressure on the c and d files.

    I don't.

Zhao appears to be positionally lost against Huzman now. Even if he gets that bishop out it won't play. Big nasties coming on the c-file too. Ugg.
