The venue is The Chess Centre of South Australia, 10 Ranelagh Street, Adelaide. [It is on the entry forms available at www.sachess.org ]

It has been very quiet Queensland way lately, maybe the Chess Chaters up there have all died.

IM Andrew Brown has now entered.

SACA continues to underwrite this tourney and this year again very strong but we need numbers otherwise it gets to the point where we are losing too much money.

$2,000 to $3,000 as a sponsorship is ok but 5 - 6 K would be unsustainable in the long term.

SA folks support this tourney which started as Uni Open then as Freytag and Lidums all of which had a by-line either major or minor as Checkmate Tourney in honour of the great man!

Enter , it is a fantastic tourney - ENTER ON-LINE PAY ON THE DAY

Looks like the locals are doing their usual trick of not entering until the last minute.
Maybe they will leave it to the day to enter and we can make another $10 a head which will help with the budget.

We keep getting players who do not tell us their full name when entering tournaments.
We often find out they are just Lost.

    missing

    I miss Adelaide!

    • and the yummy sandwiches, rolls and cakes made by the ladies committee!
    • and the (so many different types and brands of) tea'
    • and that "next who will ask the officials how many players have entered the tournament will be shot" sign
    • and beating Howie despite him winning the "pazzer division commander" title!

No matter what I will be there some time next year!

Just played that double rook sacrifice game for Anthony only a few days ago.
There is no cure for leftism. Its infestation of the host mostly diminishes with age except in the most rabid of specimens.
