Can anyone help me please [War of the Rings set]

I have a chess set which I am thinking of selling (desperate times call for desperate measures) but I have no idea of it's value, so am not sure if it would be worth the money or if I should keep it as it is beautiful and I love it, even though it is purely ornamental. It is a Graeme Anthony, War of the rings set (code SWS 131) copyright 1986 and is in excellent condition. There is a number 784 under each of the queens. Whatever that means. I have had it for about 20 years and it was a gift. If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it.

The Graeme Anthony website states that editions 1-10 of this set are the rare and particularly valuable ones which go for $8000+ (only 50 sets of each edition were made). Would be good if 1986 was one of these earlier editions but the pessimist in me thinks it might be a few years too late.
I'd email him directly and see which edition that year is - he might be able to offer some idea of its worth.
EDIT: I've just noticed that Tat111 asked his original question back in September... our answers are probably far too late

I wonder if tat111 has a prince uncle in Nigeria who just needs a little money to rescue his fortune.

By coincidence I received one of these sets as a present in 1986 and it is edition 15. Not sure how big the run was but mine is number 43 so perhaps they weren't too large.

I normally have it "on display" in the lounge room but with Christmas decorations currently taking up lots of room it is packed away. So I will be able to upload some pictures but it will take a week or two.

However I can confirm the photo above is similar to my set. Certainly the bishop, queen and king (Saruman, Shelob and Sauron) look to be the same pattern. However the black pawn, rook and knight are different patterns and the white pieces are completely different again.

OK. The decorations are packed away and the chess set is back out. Here are some photos. Merry Christmas...

The white pieces have 8 pawns which are Hobbits, rooks are the City of Tirion, knights are Ents, bishops are Gandalf, queen is Galadriel and king is Aragorn.

The black pieces have for pawns seven Orcs (and one Smeagol, see below), rooks are the Dark Tower of Mordor, knights are Smaug, bishops are Saruman, queen is Shelob and king is Sauron.

you can try E-bay. Some of those who may be interested are not even chess players, but simply like artistic collectables.
