    Windows 8.1

Anyone who has installed Windows 8.1 has probably been disappointed that the differences between 8 and 8.1 are minimal.
It is possible to boot straight to the Desktop, but once there, the information is still sparse anyway.
For those who might be running Win 8 or 8.1 and are not happy with its layout (Did I see everyone put their hand up?) I would strongly recommend that you visit the following Web Site:

The free software available will give you back the "old fashioned" Windows look and make navigation easy again. I have been running this software for some time and it appears to be fully compatible with Win 8/8.1

A Chess game is divided into three stages:
The first, when I hope I have the advantage,
The second when I believe I have an advantage,
And the third I when I know I'm going to lose !

Not sure why you want to go straight to the desktop. When you boot and land on the menu page just start typing what the program you want and it will come up. However if you do want the desktop just press the Windows key on your keyboard, and presto.
So what's your excuse? To run like the devil's chasing you.

See you in another life, brotha.
