Pawn Cocktail - Article in local paper

The Aucklander (a local paper) published an article about the ACC weekender. Mike Steadman was interviewed for it. Spot the errors!

I am amazed to find that NZ reporters are as incompetant as those in Australia! Maybe there is an annual international competition for reporters, with the reporter who makes the most errors per page winning a very large cash prize.

Players, livegames, draws, results, xtab, standings

Links to draws and results will be made available when possible. Current plan is to use the same page for the draws, another page for results and one page for crosstables. Trying to see if this will simplify the updating of info, and hopefully an improvement on the congress.

Luke Li and Alan Ansell followed up their impressive performances in the NZ Championship by finishing 1st and 2nd in the Auckland Weekender. Li won with 6/7, a half-point ahead of Ansell. They were ahead of players such as Paul Garbett (5), Antonio Krstev (5) and Mike Steadman (4.5).

Impressive performances from Luke and Alan Time control would have been tough for the over 40's though

Good to see reasonable spacing of games with breaks though. I think that's very important when playing lots of 60/+10s in one weekend.

Yeah, most Kiwis would go into meltdown at the thought of four rounds of this kind of time-control in one day - like we have in Tassie from time to time!
