    Tal Memorial

Four wins out of five in opening round!

    Aronian 1-0 Kramnik
    Grischuk 1-0 Eljanov
    Karjakin 1-0 Gelfand
    Mamedyarov draw Nakamura
    Shirov 0-1 Wang Hao

Aronian-Kramnik. Thanks to Dean for pointing out this game to me last night while it was in progress, it was obviously deep preparation by Kramnik but he may have drifted a little and then threw it away with a blunder on 38.

Nah, people can look it up if they want to.

This one is fun too. It's not often KBP vs KBP is a win!

Wow Kramnik ended up losing?? Thats a shock as I went to bed, knowing it would at least be a draw... goes to show GM's blunder too, wasn't as obvious than a usual ?? though

Last night Gelfand beat Shirov and Nakamura beat Eljanov and the other three were draws. Five players now on 1.5/2 and Shirov is on zilch!

Kramnik and Shirov would be very disappointed by their showings. Kramnik especially so after his great Olympiad.
