exactly. Testing population at large the way it is now done at South Korea.

Why should it need to be either/or?

The economy will still need pump-priming while health expenditure is increased

Yes, SK and Taiwan got it right. Other countries should follow their lead.

Cannot stress strongly enough my utter disgust that mutual obligation has not yet been suspended for at least six months.
They haven't? Under these circumstances, that's too much even for a free market conservative like me.

Right, with point-of-care testing which is done on the spot

Can you elaborate on point-of-care testing?

It's almost like a home pregnancy test or home HIV test. These tests have been around for a long time. The test that I'm specifically referring to, coming out of China, South Korea, and approved in Europe, is an antibody test. You put a drop of blood on a plastic slide, add another drop of the buffer that comes with the test, and you let it sit for 15 minutes. Then, you look at the bands. You're negative if you have just one band, or you're positive if you have more than one band.

South Korea also locked down people who were in contact with the person tested, even if they weren't ill. I'm surprised Capablanca-Fan supports this, but I'm glad he does.

As usual, Congress couldn't resist larding up a *rescue* bill with irrelevant pork

USA population: 331 million (2020 estimate)
Cost of giving every man, woman, and child $2,000 (a lot more than they are getting under the current bill):
    $0.66T.

OK, it means giving money to millionaires and billionaires. Still, a small price to pay for a bill that was a third of the cost of the current $2T porkfest. It would be nice if the President had a line-item veto power. Then he could enforce a kosher (pork-free) bill that dealt with ONLY the issue at hand.

A mate of mine in Byron has lost all his commercial tenants or they can't pay - will the Chinese Gov't compensate him? Nine doctors treating patients in the Philippines have caught the virus and died - will China replace those doctors? Will China compensate their families for the next fifty years?
Zionism is racism as defined by the UN, Israel by every dirty means available steals land and water, kill Palestinian freedom fighters and civilians, and operates an apartheid system to drive more Palestinians off their land

So what happens when you're a worker laid off for six or 12 months? $2000 won't last long.

Under the stimulus package you get a $1200 tax credit (not a handout) and $600/week unemployment benefit.

Does the worker have a right to search for jobs over those 6-12 months?
