Bear in mind that when the NZ Champs was a 12 player round robin, the North and South Island Champions automatically qualified then as well.

In your other post, I think you're talking about this game:

    2010-3 Top 50 Standard

Here is the list of the top 50 active standard-rated players for period 3 of 2010. A player is active if he/she has played a rated game in the last 6 periods, in this case, 2009-1, 2009-2, 2009-3, 2010-1, 2010-2 and 2010-3.

This means that GM Murray Chandler drops off the list and there is a new number one, IM Russell Dive.

    2100*

I am thrilled with my new rating (2100*), having just played 3 games in NZ. It is almost a reason for me not to play any rated NZ games again! But I won't do that, I promise. I hope to get the pesky * removed in future without hopefully too many rating points deducted...
Scott.. enjoying Melbourne and Wyndham Chess Club and Hobsons Bay Chess club!

Really? I don't see anyone with 2100* on the 'active' list. (Is it in the alphabetical list then?)

I seem to have fallen out of the top 50 - but I'm hoping a few ideas from my new coach will improve things.

FIDE ratings are used for GMs, IMs and FMs and tournament performance for the remainder.
