ASEAN All-Age International Chess Tournament 2010

Australia had 2 representatives at this U20 event, held in Subic Bay Phillipines. Denise Lim (U12 girls) and Ethan Lim (U8 open), both from the Ranges Chess Club, performed creditably and improved their positions from the 2009 event held in Vietnam.

In the classic chess competition Denise came 11th out of 22 in the Under 12 Girls, and in the Under 8 Open Division Ethan came 8th out of 21. Both have improved in the final score and standing from last year's ASEAN tournament in Vietnam.

In the Rapid (25 minutes per player) competition Ethan scored 5/7 and came 4th, just missing out on the bronze medal and Denise scored 2/7.

We are proud to have these juniors in our club who have proved themselves at international level and set such a high standard.
