Rybka, Fritz, Chessbase Light annotation compatibility

    Hi there,
i'm sure this has come up before but maybe we can answer it definitively.

I've made an annotation, using symbols (!? ?! etc) and colours, arrows etc using Rybka Aquarium. If i'd like to send it to a friend who uses CB light or Fritz, is there any way to make it compatible?!

    thanks,
    Paul

(The default settings cause it to come up as gibberish)

I have never used Rybka Aquarium but can you add them as text comments and then export the game as a PGN file? In PGN text is permissible inside curly braces and that could prevent them being converted to gibberish.

mmm saving as a pgn does work as when I copy into a pgn the colour annotations turn into stuff like this:

lack of cover against the e4 push, is strong here.} 10... exd5 {[%t bMrk]

I've got an answer of sorts on the rybka forum:

it doesn't look possible to transport the colour annotations, but the text you can configure so it's not gibberish.
