Teacher's union does not like scrutiny

Let me start with a disclaimer:
I don't like ALP in general and J. Gillard in particular.
However, her plan to publish test results for each school is very sensible.
No wonder Australian Education Union does not like it
For private coaching (IM, four times VIC champion) call or SMS 0417519733
Computer tells you what to play. Good coach explains why.

Agreed. Gillard has been surprisingly good as far as teacher accountability goes. If the union members were doing a good job, then they would welcome this scrutiny to prove it. But this is typical of a monopoly:

The union has given the federal government until April 12 to heed the calls of parents, teachers and principals to introduce appropriate measures to stop league tables, including possible federal legislation.

Where is the proof that they speak for parents? Most would want to know how well their kids' school educates.

“There’s no point blaming the tragedies of socialism on the flaws or corruption of particular leaders. Any system which allows some people to exercise unbridled power over others is an open invitation to abuse, whether that system is called slavery or socialism or something else.”—Thomas Sowell
