Dr Bonham is out for this month. I just wanted to judge for one month to get it going and hopefully now I may manage to play a game worthy of entry at some stage!

I have a game selected but I don't want to enter it just yet as I have a tournament on the weekend. So I'm reserving my game choice 'til I'm sure I have all the candidates.
And still, no one has satisfactorily proven, that it isn't opposite day.

This may not have been the best game of the month, but it was a game I was well pleased with

    Opinions?

    Any more entries?

Anyone who is struggling with the PGN format on the board can PM their game to me and I will post the entry by proxy.

Looks pretty good to me. Black lost time compared with the Meran with ...b6 then b5. The c-pawn was backward, so one idea is to try to prevent the freeing move ...c5, and the other is to allow it as per the game, exploiting the opening of lines before the opponent could castle. Then there was a little tactic to win a piece, exploiting the masked threat of skewering with Rc8+.

The following game just won me the Club Mercenarios Halloween tournament with 5½ out
of 6 (I had a half-point-bye in the first round). The time control was the "old" FIDE
90 minutes + 30 seconds per move. It is also a funny game because it is not often you
win with a striptease King-escape, here the motif was the unavoidable mate

... mate is unavoidable, main threat of course 24.Qxh7# so Black resigned after 1.5 hours play

Rincewind was actually the winner for September so October should ideally close today, unless there is a desire to allow a few more days for people to get their acts together.

I'm having scoresheet (The game I selected was MArcus and I's game in the taz junior) issues. Neither of us have a copy and I can't reconstruct it very well. If I can have until the end of the week I could try an reconstruct it with Marcus's assitence and even then because of the blitz finish I imagine it will be some 20 moves short of complete.
And still, no one has satisfactorily proven, that it isn't opposite day.
