It would surprise me greatly. I believe that all the Acts of the Australian States and Territories governing incorporated associations require 21 days notice of a proposed constitutional amendment and such an amendment must be carried by special resolution requiring a three-fourths majority. Any constitutional provision to the contrary would be invalid. All the State and Territory chess associations are incorporated associations as is the ACF.

I have just got in from helping to run a junior chess event, which is why I am not going to the meeting.

While I'm sure they're all having a cosy time in there, poor old me is going to be having a bite to eat, a couple of Miller Chills, a bit of light music and a chill out.

I've never been so broke that I couldn't leave town

I'm trying out a new blog site...

There were fervent negotiations even minutes before the AGM started. Trevor Stanning's pulling out of the team had nothing to do with disagreements or anything, he has pledged all his support for CV.
Inclusion of the young, popular and enthusiastic Jamie Kenmure in the team greeted by all!

Any word on the margin of victory?

Also were positions other than President contested?

First statements coming in a sec...

the winning team got into office with 17 for 12 against one abstain

First statement by the New President Mr Leonid Sandler:

"We will work for unity and Mr Cordover is welcome to participate in this move!"

We have guests after friend's wedding here, I have to go! (I said that, not mr Sandler)!

Now the election is over I will comment.

First congratulations to all the person's elected.

I used to work with David Grenness and I know that he is a first rate person who will do a great job as Treasurer.

I am stunned and pleased that Jamie Kenmure stood and was elected. This certainly came out of left field.
