Doesn't have much of an opening book (if any) but played the opening ok. I didn't play a whole game.

I had a quick play around with it and it seems reasonable. I fed it the chance to play some simple tactics and it found them all. A couple of things I noticed (admittedly on a small sample and with fast play) -

It doesn't seem to place a lot of emphasis on King safety, a couple of times it was happy to leave its King sitting in the middle on a fairly open board and eventually have it checked.

It seems prepared to swap B+N for R+P on f2 or f7, it did this once itself and on other occasion when I "threatened" to do it myself it defended f7 again.

It seems to have a limited opening book, it always e4 with e5 for instance.

I can't find an option to play Black. I also couldn't find an option to promote to piece other than queen, and furthermore there should be an option to hide the best line display as this gives the player a hint. I would say its playing strength is not more than 2000; after two games, I'm not beating it but having little trouble reaching easily drawable endings. It seems fairly indifferent to pawn structure weaknesses.

As an exercise in pointless sadism I paired it against Fritz11. It was basically lost from move 9:

I just effortlessly slaughtered it with a kingside pawn roll despite needlessly blundering the exchange along the way. With white pawns on f5 and g6 and black pawns on f6, g7 and h7 it actually exchanged on g6 allowing my queen to infiltrate to h7 with forced mate in not very many when it could have kept me out for much longer (and may not even have lost) with ...h6.

Compared to others available I wouldn't say it's "very good" at all; the Queenside one was way better.

Still probably not too bad for only three weeks' work, especially if starting from scratch.

    Reached this ending
    White Kg1 Bb3 pf7
    Black Kf8 Bg3 pc3 ph2

No option to offer a draw and drawn not recognised after more than 3 repetitions of Bg3-f4 and Kg2-h1
