If Federer had played those first 2 sets against Djokovic, against any other player, he probably would have won them - his level was damn high !

And neither is Novak. Murray could not do much better than Roger :(

Nice display of why Djokovic is number 1 in the final. While Murray threatened from time to time the ebb of flow of his game meant is was paddling against the tide for much of it.

There was some comments during the match regarding a couple of long serves being called in going against Murray. While it probably didn't help his cause we don't know if the same happened for Djokovic when he was receiving on that side or not because he doesn't make a big song and dance about such things. In my view the challenge rules have been around for some time and the players are fully conversant with them by now. Of course on the serve it is a big call by the player to challenge a serve not called out but if it was a rank mistake then Murray could have challenged.

Also, Murray's wife had a baby couple of days before the final so understandably - he was distracted.

Michael, although I believe that Mrs Kim Murray and husband Andy would greatly appreciate your concern, don't you think that announcing the birth before it actually took place was a bit (pun not intended) premature? :)

The key fact is..he was distracted by childbirth :). On another note (sad one) Roger had to undego surgery and will be out of action for some time missing events in Rotterdam and Dubai

The Djokovic-Murray head-to-head is 22-9 so if childbirth is the reason then the Murrays must have an exceptionally large family by now.

While Tennis superstarts have been resting, 35yo Estella Burgos managed to defend his title in Equador. The guy is amazing: http://www.atpworldtour.com/en/playe.../e224/overview. He has been playing challenger events for years and without much success, then suddenly won his virgin title last year at the age of 34 - the age of retirement for many.

And in breaking news, Michael Baron has announced that Andy and Kim Murray will have their second child in February 2017. "I'm always first with the tennis news" the Baron commented.
