It appears to be spreading though Europe with cases now in Italy, Sweden and France.
There is now a suspected case in a returned traveller in Sydney.
It seems to have been caught quickly and hopefully will not spread.
There is now a confirmed case of Monkeypox in Victoria.
For a disease that does not spread quickly or easily it seems to have made it through Europe, the USA, Canada and now Australia quite quicly.

Monkey pox has been around since 1958 in Africa..... First it was found in monkeys n then it quickly jumped into Humans probably in local human market places.
Sprouty has seen Monkey Pox appear here stateside from time to time probably thanks to our robust tourist industry where anybody can jump on a plane in Africa n quickly within 12 hrs be off boarding in New York City....Joy !!!1
Really it isn't that big of a concern here stateside due to da fact that Monkey Pox isn't that life threatening(less than 1% death rate. Its close viral Relative da Small Pox(aka Black Death) which wiped out Europe back in da days is way way more lethal .....
Monkey Pox is easily cured by giving da sufferers 2 full 10 day rounds of Augmentin which is an antibiotic that is strong enough to cure da Small Pox along with Monkey Pox ....
Looks like da States as of may/20th/2022 has now got 2 patients w Active Monkey Pox that have traveled by way of Canada n are being Que'd n being treated in NY.... Both cases of Monkey Pox also are being traced tracked to see how many people have come into direct contact w these patients stateside to keep this from getting outta hand stateside.....
Da Most alarming thing about this recent outbreak of Monkey Pox is da Fact that da Republican Right here stateside is spreading False Info that da Monkey Pox is mainly carried n spread in da adult male gay communities world wide......

Cases from both countries caught monkeypox at the Gran Canaria Canaria Pride festival.
I don't fully understand what is shown in the link but it seems to indicate there is some genetic difference between the strain of Monkeypox in the current outbreak and previous samples of Monkeypox

There is now news in da States that there is at least 6 confirmed cases here of Monkey Pox. 2 in MASS & 1 in NY City, 1 down in da heart of FLA, (new home of da republican party) & now we got 2 in Utah's Salt Lake City.

When in fact Monkey Pox can spread from anybody to anybody simple by staying in a hotel room where some stupid lazy maid didn't change da sheets on da beds in between guest stays.
