I will play for sure, I have nothing else to do on the school holidays.
(By the way, this is James Morris, i'm sort of new.)
And just as a special present to you, Michael, I think David Hacche might also be playing. And I understand you two have a very close relationship.

Apparently, David has now downgraded his status to, in his words, a "probably maybe". Not quite sure if that is the correct way to say it, but, yeah, he "probably maybe" will be playing

Yeah, that's a pity. The more the better in these tournaments. (Except when you get too many. Then it becomes tedious.)
I would like to see more people at these weekenders. People like Rujevic, the people I can get rating points off

Round 1

2 Morris, James 1:0 McCart, Roger

Round 2

5 McCart, Roger 1:0 Kostrzewa, Jake

The first game, Roger played a Sicilian against me. I played a dangerous line involving f4, Qf3, Bg5, Bd3 etc. I convingly slaughtered him on the kingside, and he only really made 1 mistake. I showed him afterwards what he should have played.

In fact, he decided to play the exact same line against Jake! He even let his king go for a walk, but he managed to win a piece with a nice tactic.

I think Kasparov used to play this line a lot, and understandably so. Theory goes up to about 16 moves, but after that, Black has to find his way through. It's quite difficult, even top GM's have been struggling.

Actually, credit to Marcus. He converted the advantage too well. I couldn't find anything. It still doesn't change the fact I am extremely annoyed!

Don't worry about 'inconsistency' at your age!!

A great tournament for the 3 placegetters.

The standard was good and there were lots of close games.

Tony Davis seems to have improved.

Marcus had a winning endgame against Baron when he agreed to a draw.

....and we avoided the hot weather which comes tomorrow
