just a note - the room we have been in the last few years have been converted to one of these 'gaming lounges' - so it looks like we'll be back in the nice, stylish and also roomy playing areas of years past - all that's needed is the numbers that'll impress management (and us too) numbers have been a bit down since the olympics - from a high of 98 players way back in 1998.

First - Mandla, Blair 6
Second - Buciu, Aurel-John 5.5
Equal third
Castor, David 5
Abbott, Peter 5
Tan, Kevin 5

Very fortunately the three equal thirds also qualified for Divisional 1sts and so payouts were at the higher levels. The Director in error only announced the Divisional result (though everyone knew the truth of the matter). Well Done Kevin and well done Peter.

And the winners of the Lloyd Fell Shield were :

Aurel-John Buciu (our 1st player who has won it 2 years running) [the Senior Shield]
Kevin Tan (the Junior Shield)

It's a shame my score (4/7) didn't reflect my play :(
I did get a lucky win againt Trent Parker (missed a mate in one)
Had a good position against Peter Abbott and should have held at least a draw, but lost it at the end
Same against Blair Mandla, i tried to make something out of nothing, it was drawnish.
And against Kevin Tan, I completely screwed up a great position, pawn on
7th rank, GAH!

Oh well, I may post my games up later in the analysis section to give you all a laugh :) (Fritz has already)
I am pleased at they way I played, just not pleased with the score.

I feel your pain, Trent. It was a nicely played game until that point.
