Alan Chilman was the winner of last nights Modbury Lightning Championship scoring 7.5 out of 9. Equal second with 6 points were Mlanden Perinovic and Mato Jelic. I overheard one player lament that he would have performed better if he could use a mouse.

The recent Modbury Championship was again won by Chess Schools SA coach Mato Jelic. In keeping with tradition Mato will be conducting a simul at the Modbury Club this Friday at 7:45pm. Last year Mato managed to win all but one of his simul games.

Modbury Club meets 7:45pm Fridays in a comfortable airconditioned/heated room at the Burraghah Recreation Reserve, 140 Kelly Rd Modbury. (It is in the north-eastern suburbs 20 minutes from Adelaide city.) The Club fields teams in A and B grade interclub, and also caters for social players. Visitors are welcome!

Well done Mato! (There's a link to the Chess School SA website from the SACA coaches (http://www.sachess.org/coaches.html) page.)

Club champion Mato Jelic scored a creditable 50% with a well prepared English in his simul at Modbury last night. Players submitted their scoresheets so that he could do some secret home study.:D
