It attracted 58 players last year and was a great event. Hopefully this year will be even better.

yes - last year was a great tourney. I can remember Molthoun beating Antic with a triple up of queen, rook, rook (Alekhines gun) on the e-line (although maybe this was another tourney).

I also remember Molthun kicking me around the park with a piece sac in the english sicilian attack.

Boris - of course - weasled a respectable score without playing anyone rated higher than himself and I think he pulled the Nc6xe5-discovering-an-attack-on-a bishop-b5 trick in his pet French.

Hopefully - there will be many more players enter, I would hate to see the death of this tournament before it even reaches it's third birthday.

Cheers
Garrett.

Is there anything more satisfying that cheapo opening tricks against those rated several hundred points below you? Yeah probably, now that I think about it.

I can't make it, but is anyone going to enter to make Felix actually work for his $600? ;)

I can't make it, but is anyone going to enter to make Felix actually work for his $600? ;)I didn't enter for that reason, but I'll try. :) Antic played last year. Don't think Solo did though IIRC.

I think Solo did enter last year.

I remember him swindling a 2000+ rated player in the last round (Mastlovich ?) from what looked like a simply lost ending but Solo found a tactic that only players like Solo find.

Perhaps Jono could ask Solo for the score and post here. It was a nice swindle.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you recover speedily. Not sure of the rules for free entry but I wouldn't be offended if he was.
