Yes Boris, I am playing.

Will probably be a couple of players rated above me but yes, should probably be in contention.

Mark Stokes has proved the old fella's can still be a force !!

cheers
George.

this may seem random, but is there anyone from indooroopilly/toowong/taringa/saint lucia area, or passing through or near Brisbane city on their way to Tin Cup this year? I'm very keen on attending though transport is a small issue and accomodation is quite a way from Mudgeebra. I'm not a serial killer :), just keen on some chess! Any good sumaritans out there?

Please feel free to contact me at griffen@physics.uq.edu.au if you can help!

Kind Regards,

Brendan

Hi Brendan

I work at UQ and am going down to the cup but am taking the train (on the Friday).

Hope to see you there.

Where are you staying down there as a matter of interest ?

cheers
George.

About 20 posts of general debate about having tournaments with maximum rating limits have been moved here (http://chesschat.org/showthread.php?p=182173#post182173).

Hi,

Yes I've actually seen you around UQ. we should have a few social games some afternoons after work! I'm in computer science building doing PhD. Anyways, that aside...

Well was thinking about staying at the only place I could see - The Chancellor near bond university (lake orr). However, I do hope there are other motels or something nearby! Never thought about getting the train on Friday. A possibility - alas the gap chess club is that night too so I guess I'll see what happens. Where abouts are you staying?

Cheers.

Brendan

Thanks. Looks great. I'll look into it. Though I'm not sure of your relations to [Alex] but looks like he is coming along with me. I hope I am not hated for my association. Just trying to help some people out!

Also any chance I could carpool/taxi-pool with anyone on the weekend. I can get down to gold coast friday night probably (as you are doing) but it's just between the motel and venue. Either way, I'm sure we'll work something out. Gawd all this trouble to go down and get thrashed. I've got no hope anyway. But tis a weekend of fun!

Brendan :)

I get along with Master Grasshopper fine.

Might be a good chance for some grandmaster theatre !

Cheers
George.
