You know how hard it would be to play against 20 people in that time control... thats like 2min + 2sec per move he has.

Also refer to super GM thread on IM/GM levels with inflated ratings.

it could well have been a game from *** versus Black Wolves late 1950s Krasnoyarsk,... they seemed to have learned little in 50 years....

I'm 1.5/2 on ICC IM simulation... which makes your feat pointless. Actually anything less than a win would make you look really bad, since it's easy to defeat me!!!!

Amazing game, very instructional.
They should feature this game in the Australian chess magazine next time.

Good win Axiom! What did he do wrong? I'm still trying to work it out.

When a quickly played through it yesterday, I noted that he wasted a tempo with d7->d6->d5 very early on, but I don't remember much more about the game (other than the pawn carnage on the kingside).

...Bxc3 was clearly wrong. It gave up an active piece which was a useful defender for a relatively passive knight and activated white's queen on the long diagonal in the process.

4 pawns and a fianchettoed bishop can't be great after 8 moves. Not that white was abundantly better on that count, but it can claim a far superior development and space.

Heyy Axioms,

Great job on this victory, very well played early onz to gain advantage. Looks like there isnt any rust at all on your wings. Like the way you kept the tempo of the match- fast paced & straight to the point so to speak. Again Great Job Axioms.

Sprout :)
