All prizes Guaranteed ?

Is it true I have been asked - yes it is (with some proviso's just in case no-one turns up :) )

and these are minimums - the prizes will of course ramp up in corresponding fashion to the the entries collected.

they did the same last year and everything worked out fine

To clear up any confusion, this year the Country Championship is at Coffs Harbour

I find this sometimes an interesting concept. Players 'expect' prizes to be increased if entries are more than expected, but if a set of organisers decided to reduce prize money if there is a lack of entries, it is all hell to pay.

This topic probably could be a discussion thread on its own.

it makes working out the prizes easier, there are inevitably some adjustments - lots of players in one division Vs hardly any in another. And whehter the increase in prizes goes 1 to 1 with the divisionals, but at the end of a busy tournament then forming a huddle to work out the finer details can be stressful.

You have to include that bit about if not enough turn up and you also have to stress that of course prizews go up if warranted.

This was all prompted by the change that figuring on 30 players rather than 40 or 50 when estimating the top prize in the adverts, we used to get 50 or 60 (and once 98) but those days seem to have passed.
