There were more moves at the end but I messed up my scoresheet, they aren't important anyway!

I enjoyed that game!!

39. Re2 was a silly idea! Anyone else see any silly ideas?

Parker,T - Villanueva,A [D17]
Parramatta Club championships (1), 2007
[Trent Parker]

1.Nf3 d5 2.d4 Nf6 3.c4 c6 4.Nc3 dxc4 ... is the correct move if the white squared bishop wants to come out early. Mr Villanueva learn his lesson since last time i played him. 5.a4 A move to avoid queenside complexities of b5 5...Bf5 6.Bf4 e6 7.e3 Nh5 8.Bg3 Nxg3 9.hxg3 h6 I Think this might be a bit of a waste of a move. 10.Bxc4 recaptures the pawn and developes the bishop. I've almost completed my development. 10...Nd7 11.Nh4 This is where I go haywire. I decide to go on a rather dubious Kingside attack that eventually works but only after Black Botches up the position. Better would have been castles followed by play on the Queenside with a minority attack. 11...Bh7 12.Qg4 Nf6 13.Qh3 what was i thinking? I was thinking of a sac on e6.... which does nothing much. I was also thinking of a King side attack. But my defenses are now quite lean on the Q side. 13...Qb6 14.b3?? [14.Ra2 had to be played] 14...Bb4 attack of an undefended piece 15.Rc1 ... and defence 15...Qa5 and attack again. 16.Bxe6 Realising that I have pretty much a lost game I decide to go for complications and try to grasp some form of counterplay. 16...Bxc3+ [16...fxe6 17.Qxe6+ Kf8 18.Qc4 Ne4 works for black] 17.Ke2 perhaps Kf1 was better in hindsight 17...0-0 [17...Ne4 is probably the most direct route to victory here.... 18.f4 Qa6+ 19.Kf3 Nd2+ 20.Kf2 Perhaps white could avoid mate in this variation.(20.Kg4 h5+ 21.Kg5 f6+ 22.Kxh5 Bf5#) ] 18.Bf5 hoping that the bishops would come off and I could get to the black king somehow.... 18...Rfe8 [18...Ne4 is now even stronger 19.Bxe4 Bxe4 with Qa6 mate to follow or the loss of more material] 19.g4 continuing with the attacking idea 19...Bxf5 [19...Bxd4 could have been a strong possibility....;
and still this move is very strong. 19...Ne4 20.f4 Bxd4 21.exd4 Ng5+] 20.Nxf5 and now the bishop cannot take on d4 20...Nh7 Black sees the idea to play the Knight to g5 but goes about it the wrong way..... 21.f4 Qa6+ I now have a bit of a hide hole. 22.Kf2 Bb2 23.Rc2 Bxd4?? [23...Ba3 saves that bishop] 24.Nxd4 f6 25.Nf5 Qd3 26.Re2 figuring that i could let the two queenside pawns go considering i can get two kingside pawns at least 26...Qxb3 27.Nxg7 what i've been hoping for the whole game! :D 27...Re7 [27...Kxg7 28.Qxh6+ Kf7 29.Qxh7+ Ke6] 28.Nf5 Rd7 29.Qxh6 Qf7 30.Qh4 withdrawing the queen for one reason. A reason which Mr Villanueva did not see! but black's advantage has certainly dissipated 30...Rad8?? [30...Qg6 31.Rd1 Rxd1 (31...Rad8 32.Kf3 Kf8 33.Rd4 Rxd4 34.exd4 Re8 35.Rxe8+ Kxe8 36.Nd6+) 32.Ne7+] 31.Nh6+ Kf8 32.Nxf7 Rxf7 33.Qh6+ Kg8 34.Ke1 Rd3 35.Rd2 [which i missed 35.Qg6+ but i was thinking more about mate... or i still can win the rook :D] 35...Rxe3+ 36.Kf2 Re8 37.Qg6+ Kf8 38.Rxh7 Rxh7 39.Qxh7 1-0

This weeks installment I came out of the opening with a pawn down but with my opponents pieces on their origial squares..... and thats where they ended up after the QB went on a quick excursion.
