Frank Rosser of Penrith has the backing of Penrith RSL to form a new chess club.

The chess club has been allocated space in the restaurant area at the top of the main escalator.

If there is anybody available to come and support this new venture which meets at 7.00 pm every Wednesday night, please just turn up for some friendly games.

It would be appreciated if you could bring a board, and if you have one, a clock.

For information phone Frank at 4731-3548.

Are ugh boots a pre-requisite? And checkered flannellette shirts?

Heck, a club with an in-built bar sounds good to me!

But I don't live in NSW

Why go all the way to Penrith? The Town Hall CC is getting bigger and stronger. Join us every weekday after 4PM. We finish later on Fridays then head on over to the Spanish Club for drinks and more chess.

Last Friday, John Curtis was our top gun. Will you be a top gun?

Where abouts is this Amiel?

Penrith RSL is close to Nepean Square (in the centre of Penrith).

Tell AR to create his own threads!

Well what might have been a temporary three post thread drift, of a thread that had been dead for two weeks, has now turned into 5.

Hey.... It's better than saying "BUMP' to certain threads though isn't it?

I travel to Sydney on business each month and stay in the Coogee area on Tuesday, Wednesday and sometimes Thursday nights. Is there a chess club operating within a 15 km radius to Coogee on those evenings? The Town Hall (in the CBD?) sounds within distance but a 4.00 PM start is much too early for me.
