This morning Bergil said (on the phone) that some of his friends who had seen the WSCP report on the Rooty Hill web page http://www.rootyhillchess.org/wscp06.html asked if it was possible to have their games posted there too, even though they're not Rooty Hill members or playing Rooty Hill players.

Yes it is. If you have been playing in the WSCP and want your games included in our WSCP report I'm happy to do that.

But if you're playing anywhere in Australia and would like a place to display some games I'd be willing to set up a section where they can be viewed.

Here are the rules:

1. I will only accept games in either .pgn or chessbase format.
DON'T SEND YOUR SCORE SHEET. I don't have time to feed them into a program and convert them to PGN format.

2. Choose wisely what you send in.
Obviously somebody playing at my level won't have games equal in quality to those of elite players, but that's no bar to having them published. No matter where you sit in the rating table, if you have a game you'd like published I will do it. My caution is simply that if I get too many games from one player I'll make an arbitrary selection and drop the rest. (How many, if any, get dropped will mostly depend on how much time I have available: chess is only one of my interests.)

3. DON'T send Internet games. I will only consider club or tournament games played within Australia.

It would also be possible to publish photographs on the page and maybe a paragraph of two about the players, but both those are optional. Depends whether you want to say anything or just want to be able to share your game on the Internet.

If you would like to write about any chess topic I would also welcome that. If you have any interest in that area you might check our "Features" or "Games" archives to see the sort of thing that's already been done http://www.rootyhillchess.org/archive.html. My only restriction there is that I will not publish anything that could be construed as attacking any person or organisation, so leave the political stuff on the BB.

The page is up and running. I've scrounged a few games from the BB to seed it (if anybody objects I'll remove them -- unless, of course, your opponent wants to gloat!) and you can see it here:

I've just given Paul B an announcement for the ACF Newsletter so if you want to send in your games it's now available.

Thanks for the reminder. I missed your reply here.

You had posted your game on the BB (last year I think) and I remembered seeing it there.

I'd love to have your win against Jonny B -- wish I had a win against him to boast about. Didja get him with your Blackmar-Diemer Gambit?
