Hi everyone,

I have just finished building the CCLA's own Members' Only Website - The CCLA Insider.

The CCLA Insider contains CCLA's very own Webserver, configured to allow play in both Orthodox and Fischerrandom Chess. With the latter, however, the starting position needs to be inserted in FEN format. Only friendly (i.e. unrated) games are able to be played on the Webserver at this stage - rated play may be introduced at a later stage if deemed appropriate and necessary by the CCLA.

The CCLA Insider also includes a Downloads Centre, which currently contains the PDF version of the latest ACCQ, with thanks to its Editor Shaun Press. Please enjoy the site and give me plenty of feedback with regards to what is here now and what could be here in the future.

CCLA members who have joined the CCLA Bulletin Board have already received their login details. Any CCLA members yet to join the BB, please do so and I shall forward details to you. If you aren't a CCLA member yet, what are you waiting for?

I have looked at your bulletin board and it is great stuff. Why do we need our own site for games when we can set up games on the ICCF site for Australian
games? In particular the New Zealand Correspondence Chess Championship was run on this site. Another point worth examining is whether you can interface to
the XEctool utility which simplifies server chess.

I an use this utility on ICCF but not on Chessfriend.

Thanks for your support. At this stage, the CCLA Webserver is only a tool by which members can organise friendly matches against each other. All other CCLA activites occur either on the ICCF Webserver or via the traditional means (e.g. mail, e-mail).

As to XEctool, I shall look into it and get back to you.
