AR, I realised why RW was pukey in your blogg discussion thread yesterday - because his www site and Matt's UCJ are buried alongside each other in the pauper's section in Rookwood Cemetery. Sorry Matt.
Matt's exploded, RW's died from lack of water and oxygen.
I told him that jealousy was a curse.
And finally I would like to thank Kegless for spurring me on to even greater heights such as What is Today poll!

Actually, all though I personally don't read Amiel's site, I think it is a good idea. It complements chesschat rather than detracts from it and so is to be encouraged.
But it is funny how any post you write, regardless how much you try to talk about other topics, ALWAYS end up being about you, Peter. Why do you think that is?

I have offered a few theories to explain your behaviour over the years. ADD, unhappy childhood, sexual inadequacies, gender alignment confusion, etc. Maybe a combination of them all. But I'd like to hear your rationale.

So now we should be congratulation people who perform above their rating. Maybe you should chastising Peter Parr for passing on news that Wohl drew with Petrosian and Kengis. After all, they may read the ACF newsletter.

They are not juniors so are not as sensitive as many younger juniors are.
As an adult if anyone wanted to congrat someone lower-ranked than me for a win over myself or even to show up my weakness in a game then they are welcome (pretty boring of course)

Often juniors will break down after being beaten after a hard struggle so this knocks your guess - and their reaction is quiet understandble. And it has being placed on the public record that even your "favourite son" had thrown the towel in a few times.
If a such a big song and dance was done after every junior win, as has been sickly done to death here recently, it would be clogged up like the obituries section in Star News during the Gay Plague.
And a lot more youngsters, if knew about the cheering here, would also feel like throwing the towel in.

This reminds me of the pre-PC garbage we had at school where it was considered undesirable to talk about Winning in case you hurt the Loser's feelings. So long as there was nothing mean being said towards the losing player, why should the winner not have been congratulated? Indeed to congratulate the winner implies that the loser is good enough that one should be proud of beating them. Which thread was it anyway?

Well I don't know exactly the situation when a few times young Morris was going to throw the towel in and never play chess again - and as we all know he is a top winner - so imagine how the poor loser feels. And when young Morris's melodrama is broadcast over the BB one of his opponents who got shirted off earlier when all the praise was heaped on young Morris will taunt him at tournaments in front of other juniors "Morris is going to never to play chess again if he loses - isn't he a bad loser, isn't he a big soc!".
Other BB chess parents' children also have good wins but there is not the over the top garbage put out by RW, as if young Morris was the only winning junior alive.
I am wondering if there more to it below the surface.

James has been in very good form of late. He performed well at Newcastle won 2 of the last three Rookies cups (Jesse Jager winning September), had a picket fence in the Vic School teams and is currently 6/6 is the Vic Champ Qual 1 tourny. It can't be helped if he is having a winning patch. :P
Note, I was also upbeat about Yita's performance in WA. So James isn't the only junior I congratulate online. Also I tend to congratulate anyone with a BB connection doing well as I did in the Vic Champ thread when nearly all BBers won no the one night.
Just sounds like sour grapes on your behalf, Peter.

The tournament refered to was a "fun" one dayer. The NSW Chamionships came just after it. There, they scored 50%. They like chess - as a fun thing. They play once a week and do about 10 hours training total in the whole year. I don't push. They are seriously into netball and piano, so there isn't much time for much else. To answer your question, yes, it crossed my mind. But it has to cross theirs first.
Out of interest, how many girls are you expecting up their for the U12 and U18 Girls'?

I had gone and checked the NSW girls before I posted- they had respectable results in the NSW girls as well.
The girls comp tends to be a lot less stressful than the main comp (apart from the serious contenders). They tend to be a friendly lot and all socialise together, so it is a great comp for promoting girls chess.
I really don't know how big it is going to be - it has been pretty pathetic for the last couple of years. I would hope that Gold Coast would provide quite a few girls. I think ACT currently has 8 girls pretty much confirmed. We really need NSW and Vic to start generating girls again - the NSW girls comp did look quite good this year.
I think there is a difference between pushing and gently suggesting. If you have the time to take them, it might be fun and motivate them to want to do more. On the other hand if they are into piano and netball it might already be too late. :)

Firstly I make no judgement about whether this is in fact happening.
Secondly if you are receiving PMs from anyone who you do not wish to be PMd by, reply to their PM with a message requesting that they send you no further PMs and stating that you will report them to the moderators if they do (do not send anything else with this message.) If you ask someone not to send you PMs and they continue to do so their PM rights can be suspended.
However you can't just request that someone send you only "nice" PMs as what "nice" consists of is a subjective matter.
I think that just maybe you should keep the whole episode off the public board lest it refect badly upon you.

AC, I did PM you last night but I think saying I PM you every time Morris wins is an exaggeration. In fact, I can't remember if I have every PMed you before to tell you about one of James' many wins. Before the one last night my previous PM to you was on the 12/9 and totally not James or chess related at all. Perhaps if you could reply back to all the ones I sent you before last night I might be able to determine who it is that has hacked into my account and bothering you with this copious amount of spam.
Re: the ONE PM from last night. I really thought you'd be interested as you have taken such a keen interest in young Morris' results to date. His results in the Vic Champ Qual 1 are great, don't you agree?
I get enough PMs from his mother that I do not want. Some spoken words have to be enunciated carefully or they can be misunderstood ... and some have to be carefully typed for the same reason.
You were 100% correct with "PMs", AC. Spelt perfectly. But if you'd typed it ALL in upper case that would have been seriously politically incorrect...
