Well at the very least we need to look at our defence. You can't really complain about an offence that gets three past Germany and two past Argentina! :ermm:

Yes but not now, its too close to the crunch matches against 5th place South American team.

If we don't make it then look for a new coach.

Tunisia may get a lot more practise as a team. They would be surrounded by other teams wanting practise. They would not have the great distractions of cricket and rugbies

It's the world game and right across Aussie parents are signing their youngsters up to prevent injuries.

I got concussion in high school tackling the biggest guy head on.

That's what you get for trying to use your head. I prefer a sneaky rabbit punch when the ref isn't looking ... ;)

Where exactly and explicitly was the rabbit punch aimed at?

the only reason I am against Frank is that he is a "Greek". The Greeks who had the corner store opposite me got very shirty when I stirred them one day about Greece's big loss to Argentina or the Poms about 10 years ago.

Did you know that the football which Diego Maradonna scored that brilliant goal with against the Poms is now in the Vatican because it was touched by the hand of God.

You can't sack a coach because of one bad result.

Sacking's not so bad, in Columbia, that goalie was executed.

That's soccer for you though, a game for the crazies!

Actually Andres Escobar was a defender not a goalie. He scored an own goal while stretching out to cut off a cross in the game between Columbia and the US in the 1994 World Cup. US went on to win the match 2-1. Columbia went home early and Escobar was shot shortly afterwards.

The reasons for the shooting are not entirely clear but may have been motivated as retribution from Columbian gambling syndicates. There is an good documentary on the whole sorry affair, titled "Escobar's Own Goal".

As a side note, Alan Hansen made an apology after the incident for opining (after the match but before the shooting) that a player "ought to be shot for making a mistake like that".

Oh dear

Will this hinder Australia's qualification chances for the World Cup?

No, I think moving into the Asian Confederation was the best thing we could have done to help us get into the World Cup.

having a team with half a chance of winning a group pool game would also help.
