Hey, I dont post often, and I dont know how to use tools. I was wondering if someone could go through this game.

Result 1/2-1/2

1. e4 c6 2. Nf3 d5 3. exd5 cxd5 4. c4 e6 5. Nc3 Nf6 6. Qb3? (not sure, just trying to attack the Pawn and reinforce the possible idea of Bb5 check, trying to attack b-pawn at the same time), Bd6
7. cxd5 exd5 8. Bb5check Nc6 9. 0-0 (Looked at the pawn up variation, but didnt like the combo breaker of Qe7Check, leading to a pin of piece, and unable to castle. I chose safety and development.) Be3 10. Re1 0-0 11. d4 Qb6 (I was unhappy, my Queen is on a nice diagonal and doing a bit in all ways) 12. Be3 a6 13. Ba4 Qb4 14. Qxb4 Bxb4 15. a3 Bxc3 16. Bxc3 Ne4 17. Rec1 b5 18. Bc2 f5 19. Bxe4 dxe4 20. Ne5 Nxe5 21. dxe5 f4 22. Bd4 ( I am happy here- i have hopefully blocked 3 crucial ranks which cant be broken easily without a sacrifice), a5 23.a4 bxa4 24. Rxa4 Rfd8
25. Rca1 26. Kf1 Bf5 27. Ke2 Kf7 28. f3 g5 29. g3 Rb8 30. R1a2 I offer draw, and it is accepted. 1/2-1/2

Currently, I am playing at around 1058! (ACF) rating, and the apponent has a 1G Rating. I am pretty sure I am over-rated, and I made this variation up as I went. I normally play e4 d6 2. d4 d5 3. exd5 cxd5 c4, trying to turn it into a slight variation of Queens Gambit, even though it goes through a different way, plus loss of my e-pawn, and their c-pawn.

Please may someone respond as soon as possible. Thanks in advance. ;)

Hi Careth,

Haven't noticed you around before. Welcome! When posting a game such as that its really helpful to put PGN tags around the game score ... each tag is within square brackets (e.g. [ and ]) so that it reads like this without the spaces: [ PGN ] Then you get this:

1. e4 c6 2. Nf3 d5 3. exd5 cxd5 4. c4 e6 5. Nc3 Nf6 6. Qb3?
{not sure, just trying to attack the Pawn and reinforce the possible idea of Bb5 check, trying to attack b-pawn at the same time}
6. ... Bd6 7. cxd5 exd5 8. Bb5+ Nc6 9. 0-0
{Looked at the pawn up variation, but didnt like the combo breaker of Qe7+, leading to a pin of piece, and unable to castle. I chose safety and development}
9. ... Be6 10. Re1 0-0 11. d4 Qb6
{I was unhappy, my Queen is on a nice diagonal and doing a bit in all ways}
12. Be3 a6 13. Ba4 Qb4 14. Qxb4 Bxb4 15. a3 Bxc3 16. bxc3 Ne4 17. Rec1 b5 18. Bc2 f5 19. Bxe4 dxe4 20. Ne5 Nxe5 21. dxe5 f4 22. Bd4
{I am happy here - i have hopefully blocked 3 crucial ranks which cant be broken easily without a sacrifice}
22. ... a5 23.a4 bxa4 24. Rxa4 Rfd8 25. Rca1 26. Kf1 Bf5 27. Ke2 Kf7 28. f3 g5 29. g3 Rb8 30. R1a2
{I offer draw, and it is accepted.} 1/2-1/2

Unfortunately there are/were some wrong moves noted in your score. I've fixed it up as I thought it ought to be, but Black's move 25 is missing so I can't do anything from there onwards....

Sorry Frosty- the board was around the wrong way round. I just remembered, so i think I noted this on some of my moves. The reason you probably wouldnt have seen me is cos i mainly posted in the Mount Buller forums- either way yeah, 25. ... Rd5 mentioned by Bill Gletsos. Sorry bout late reply, net wasnt working.
