It was a very competitive and hard fought 2021 Qld Seniors Chess Championship, with some games going well over two and a half hours! Thanks to all the players for coming along, Gail Young from the QWCL for organizing the event once again and Saint Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Bracken Ridge for hosting the event as usual.

A group photo organized by Peter Cronin and final standings and cross table are available at https://caq.org.au/qld-seniors-2021/ The link takes a while to activate.

Gail Young, Koshnitsky Medal Winner, Queensland Women’s Chess League mainstay and CAQ Membership Secretary, Ratings Officer and GP Coordinator, continued to organize the event from her hospital bed. We trust she will recover soon.

And this valuable link to a group photo organized by Peter Cronin [delete Craig Stewart] of the participants (although not individually captioned) with a running commentary by Mark Stokes, with final standings and cross-table, of an event completed less than 48 hours ago, IMHO, just about ensures immortality for the 2021 Queensland Seniors Championship. Like looking at a photo of Hastings 1895 or St Petersburg 1914.

Actually, Peter Cronin organized the group photo. I corrected my original error, but cannot correct the quotes.

google docs viewer seemed to cause some page load issues - I did not want to spend time, so the easy way was to display the cross-table as an image rather than use the google viewer.

These two games from the event are posted on behalf of Allan Fossey. The first game is Allan's (very impressive) first win against me and the second one is his draw against former Queensland Champion John Myers.

As ever, the Queensland Seniors is a very friendly and enjoyable tournament. Many thanks to organiser Gail Young and DOP Mark Stokes for running this year's event. Gail conducted most of her duties from a hospital bed(!), so I'm sure I speak for all the players in sincerely wishing her all the best for a full recovery very soon.

The final games have been received from the 2021 Queensland Senior Championships.

Remember the days when a great tournament would be capped by a tournament book with photo, round by round report, tables and all the games? (e.g. Candidates Tournament, Zurich 1953). Not even the last Australian Championships had what the Queensland Seniors Championships 2021 now have.
