In a field like this - all participants have tremendous abilities. Also the likes of Svidler and Gelfand are more hungry as they do not get invited to to top tournaments weekly any more (unlike the likes of Giri, Ding etc. who play in all of those)

That's a very good observation Michael, indeed the line-up of top tournaments tends to be a very predictable matter these days.

Yes, maybe he was trying to give him a chance since rumour has it that Nepo was furious with Magnus.
He insisted that the world champ was trying to flag him while he (Nepo) had a better position in a previous encounter.
