The Chess Association of NSW has scheduled the FIDE Arbiters Seminar, which will be presented by IA Peter Tsai. This course will be held during the 2020 Australian Chess Championships

Date: Saturday 4 to Tuesday 7 January and then from Thursday 9 to Friday 10 January 2020
Venue: St George Leagues Club, 124 Princes Hwy, Kogarah, NSW, 2217
Times:

Saturday 4th January 11 am to 1 pm
Sunday 5th January 10 am to 1 pm
Monday 6th January 10 am to 1 pm
Tuesday 7th January 10 am to 1 pm
Thursday 9th January 10 am to 1 pm
Friday 10th January 10 am to 1 pm

Topics:
a) Laws of Chess.
b) Tournament Rules.
c) System of Games, tie breaks.
d) Regulations for the rating and the over the board titles.
e) Swiss system and pairing rules.
f) Regulations for the titles of the Arbiters.
g) Use of the electronic clocks.
h) Anti-cheating Guidelines
h) Examination

Cost:
NSWCA and NSWJCL - $55
Rest of Australia - $100
Oceania - $150
(Examination fees included)

All prospective participants please note that Peter is starting to distribute pre-reading materials for the course already. So if you're intending to do it, and haven't yet registered AND PAID, then please register AND PAY as soon as possible. At least one person has "registered" but not paid and therefore has not really fully registered, as such.

The FIDE Arbitersí Seminar was organized by the New South Wales Chess Association under the auspices of FIDE. The seminar took place in the St George Leagues Club, Kogarah, NSW on January 2 to 7, 9 and 10, 2020. The Lecturer was IA Dr Peter Tsai FIDE Lecturer (AUS). The language of the Seminar was English.

The topics included:
FIDE Laws of Chess
Tournament Rules
System of Games & Tie Breaks
Regulations for the rating and the over‐the‐board titles
Swiss Dutch system and pairing rules
Regulations for the titles of the Arbiters
Use of Electronic Clocks
Anti-cheating Guidelines

The following succeeded in the exam and they will be awarded a norm for the title of the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board:

anyone who's younger by 25 + years than me is a spring chicken
