Great to see Tom Maguire win the 2019 Marcus Porter Memorial with a perfect 8 out of 8, using The Grob with White and with Black in all games! Tom shared some fun memories of Marcus with the audience, which was much appreciated by all present, including Marcus' father, mother and brother! Tom became the fifth different winner of this event, which has been held for 5 years.

Congratulations to Tom Maguire who has taken out the 2019 Marcus Porter Memorial. Great to see Tom win after coming 2nd multiple times.

Well done to Suvan Nag who won the best placed under 1000 prize.

Tom Maguire led the Grob competition with 8 grob points from 8 attempts ahead of Jacob Edwards with 6 grob points from 8 attempts. Special mentions to Andrew Mather, Joshua Morris, Craig Stewart and Jai Turner who all played the grob or reverse grob 8 times. Once again, many players embraced the grob theme and the grob or reverse grob was played 86 times.

The prize for best dressed went to Jasper Moss who in true Marcus spirit was definitely ready for bed in his pj's.

Many thanks to the Porter family who once again donated a beautiful clock trophy for the winner. Thank you to everyone who played and hope to see you next year.
